Praise the living God that He loves us so very much to send His one and only Son to this earth to live, die on the CROSS for our sins, and then be resurrected from the grave! There is no greater name in history than the name of JESUS and there never ever will be! “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12 NKJV).
One of the greatest joys of my life is to serve alongside faithful servants of the Lord Jesus who are being salt and light in this evil world (Matt. 5:13-16)! Dr. Amie Rumph has been an anointed Spirit-filled public-school teacher for the past 26 years. She is faithfully serving her Lord at Lincoln Heights Middle School in Morristown where she is also the faculty sponsor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a great campus ministry that has greatly impacted my life! Dr. Amie had me to share the gospel with the FCA chapter on Wednesday morning, Dec. 3. As I entered the school, I could feel the presence of the Lord! Dr. Amie and her co-laborers had already been praying! Students just kept coming into the room! Dr. Amie said that there were between 55-60 students who were as attentive as any group of students that I have ever witnessed! I gave each student a marked copy of the New Testament along with a decision card. The Holy Spirit was moving powerfully! I had them to publicly participate in sharing the pure and simple plan of salvation. As the students were leaving, they handed their decision cards to their teachers. One of the teachers, with tears of great joy streaming down her face, came to me with a handful of decision cards! She said: “Oh, my! I am so emotional!” YES! The powerful Holy Spirit will do this! Twenty-three students were gloriously saved! I did not have enough New Believer’s New Testaments, so I came back to my house and took more back to the school to Dr. Amie! Praise the Lord for Christian teachers in public schools who love and serve Him!
Only my Lord knows the great joy of taking His Holy Word into the dark places of this world and watching Him “pierce the hearts” of broken people (Hebrews 4:12)! Precious men come into the church room at the Jefferson County Jail with a broken and forlorn look on their faces and by the time that they leave they are crying tears of great rejoicing! I wish that you could see the men pray, many for the first time in their lives! A 37-year-old man literally prayed heaven down and then stated: “This is the first time that I have prayed in my life!” Another man stated: “My prayer request from being here one month ago has been answered!” I have them gather in a circle and lay their hands on their comrades’ shoulders and pray over them! Tears begin to flow down their faces as they share the brokenness of their lives! They sang Away in a Manger and listened intently to the message Never Enough! The message applied to many of their prayer requests! The awesome power of God literally sweeps through the church room.” Freedom and great joy on their faces replaces emptiness and brokenness! The Holy Spirit breaks the forces of darkness as the men pray and sing to their Lord! Five men gave their hearts to the Lord Jesus, and sixteen men recommitted their lives to their Lord in three church services during this shortened Christmas time! One man stated as he was leaving: “I always feel the presence of the Holy Spirit when you are here!”
Pastor Don Letzring of Zion Grove Baptist Church in Sevierville had me to share the gospel there on Sunday, Dec. 21! I have been so very blessed to assist this great church many times over the past 15 years! The church also gave me the awesome privilege to assist them in getting Pastor Don there over four years ago! Kim and I were taken aback to see how greatly their Lord is blessing them with children, young people, and young adults! YES! They are growing spiritually and numerically! My Lord had me to deliver the message Without Christ There Would Be No Christmas. The text: Matthew 1:18-25. One dear lady recommitted her life to her Lord!
On Sunday morning, Dec. 28, I was blessed to share the gospel at Zion Grove Baptist Church in Rogersville. I have been so very blessed to be able to have assisted them over the past 28 years! They are currently without a pastor and Deacon Kevin Gentry is ably leading their pastor search! Last month I told you the great story of Dakota Helton, a member of this great church, recommending me to his head football coach, Bill Taylor, of Tusculum University in Greeneville, TN. Coach Taylor had me to share the gospel with the team and a great and mighty Harvest took place! I had Dakota tell his church about the mighty movement of the Holy Spirit on his football team and it set his church on fire! My Lord had me to deliver the message Without Christ There Would Be No Christmas and four adults recommitted their lives to their Lord!
The glorious gospel message will never return empty (Isaiah 55:11)! Our great God still hears and answers the bold dynamic prayers of His people (Jeremiah 33:3)! As you can clearly see, your prayers for this passionate soul winner are being answered! I can never ever say thank you enough for the very few precious people who pray and support this faithful and effective work of real-life New Testament evangelism! All the glory, honor, and praise go to my Lord for He never has nor will He ever give His glory to any man, including this “fallen, frayed, and sinful man” (Isaiah 42:8)! I appreciate and love you more than you will ever know this side of Heaven!
