Dr. Darrell Robinson describes leading lost people to faith in the Lord Jesus in his excellent book People Sharing Jesus! He states: “Sharing Christ is both the natural expression and the obedient lifestyle of a true believer. It is the outflow of the overflow of the inflow of the Christ-filled life.” In other words, you are so full of JESUS that you just can’t do anything else but tell others about HIM (Acts 5:29)!
Pastor Travis Pierson of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Kingsport called me last Sunday night to tell me that a 93-year-old man had just come to faith in the Lord Jesus! His wife, who is in hospice, led him to the Lord! They have been married for 70 years! Two years ago, I assisted Pastor Travis in a revival setting and I told him that he and his leaders needed to get me out in the field where the lost people live, and He did just that! He took me to see this man, and he allowed me to share the plan of salvation with him. As I led him to pray the sinner’s prayer, he stopped and said: “I just can’t do it!” The convicting power of the Holy Spirit continues to work on the heart of a lost person long after the soul winner is gone! One study reveals that the chances of a spiritually lost person coming to faith in the Lord Jesus past the age of 75 are 1 in 700,000! Praise the living God! HE never gives up on lost people being Born Again (Luke 19:10)! Pastor Travis also thanked me for the excellent resource on spiritual warfare by Dr. David Jeremiah for he is teaching the people that he shepherds how to equip themselves when the devil attacks them!
Two years ago, at the Rise Revival sponsored by Concord Baptist Church in Mohawk, TN and their Pastor, Larry Jones, Miss Sarah Richards surrendered to her Lord’s call upon her young life to be a missionary when I gave the public invitation! Sarah was commissioned by Pastor Larry Jones and her home church, Concord Baptist Church, on Sunday morning, May 3! She will begin serving as a missionary in Belize in June! Please place Miss Sarah on your prayer list! You can see the full commissioning service on the Concord Baptist Church Facebook page. Also, this year’s Rise Revival will be held June 23-27 at the Locust Springs Christian Retreat in Greeneville, TN. Please be praying for the awesome power of God to move as He has moved in the previous four years!
We have distributed new Bibles to the Morristown West High School senior football players for the eleventh year in a row! I highlight the plan of salvation along with placing a How to Be Born Again flyer in each Bible.
Our life-long friend, Roger Maltba, leads the choir at our former home church in Morristown, Calvary Baptist Church. Roger led the choir to sing the song that my Lord gave me in 2023, Let Jesus Set You Free on Sunday morning, April 12! The song is the story of my dad carrying me down the aisle of Fairview Bible Baptist Church in Morristown on a hot summer’s night in 1965 to give my heart to the Lord Jesus at the age of eight!
A faithful and bold witness in the state of Kentucky recently ordered 200 How to Be Born Again flyers in Spanish! Last year he ordered over 1,000 of the flyers in English! He is a personal soul winner!
Mrs. Janice Scruggs, a great friend and prayer partner for over 21 years, called me while I was in prayer last week to tell me that she had led a young door-to-door window salesman to the Lord in her home using the How to Be Born Again flyer! Glory Be!
Pastor John David Shanks of Beulah Baptist Church in Kingsport hosted me on Sunday morning, April 12! This is a very solid Bible-believing church! We distributed the flyer Where Will You Live in Eternity? Heaven or Hell My Lord had me to deliver the message: Watch King Saul Fall with my text: 1 Samuel 15:10-35. Two dear ladies rededicated their lives while another precious lady spoke with me at length after the service about her need for baptism! She was under very strong conviction!
How I praise my Lord that He continues to move powerfully in the Jefferson County Jail! I came down with Covid and had to miss one week. Then the next week they could not take me back into the jail due to “unforeseen circumstances!” Our great God still saved two precious men, and fifteen men rededicated their lives to their Lord in three weeks! In one particular week, an officer was in attendance, and he listened and watched the deep move of the Holy Spirit! On another week the men just kept coming until all the chairs were filled! I have never seen most of these men! They were older men and they were hungry to hear from their Lord! I wish that you could hear them sing and pray! They respond to me very well when I ask them to lead in singing and in prayer! In one cell block, I have never, in six years coming here, seen so many very mature men who are truly filled with the power of the Holy Spirit! They have depth and intimacy with their Lord that I have never seen here! It encourages me that their Lord is going to bring them through this spiritually dark time in their lives! They are very sensitive to the movement of the Holy Spirit as they are always concerned about this passionate soul winner! They thank me for loving them! As they were leaving, one of the men said: “Brother Jeff, everyone knows that when you come here, we will hear from God! We are thankful for your prayer warriors!” And so am I!
April 24 was my 34th year anniversary serving my Lord in the field of evangelism! Only He could lead, strengthen, and sustain me for all of these years! Kim, my wife, has endured great hardships in standing with me for these many years! I could never have accomplished all that my Lord has entrusted to me if it were not for her sacrificial and selfless labors! She has and continues to work, and she homeschooled our two children! Each one is being blessed greatly by their great God in their respective careers! It is a very harsh lifestyle because America continues to drift further away from the Lord! We are in the Last Days before our Lord’s 2nd coming! Most churches could care less about soul winning and thus, a soul winner! An evangelist in a declining culture is like a product on the grocery shelf that no one wants! If I had not started using the media in 2010, I would not be leading as many spiritually lost people to the Lord as I am doing! It is like when a salmon is going upstream to spawn with the rapid currents of water pushing him back! I only continue to serve my Lord because I know that HE has called me to do the great work of the New Testament evangelist! My greatest enemies are the same enemies the Lord Jesus and his first followers had, religious people (Matt. 10:16-19).
With all of my great heart for my Lord, thank you for your prayers and financial support! Thousands are being saved through this great work of soul winning! I appreciate and love you!
