When the living God of Heaven and earth decides to move, He moves, and no one or nothing can ever stop Him! Psalm 115:3 states: “But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.”
Pastor Scott Ingram of Omega Baptist Church in White Pine, TN gave this passionate soul winner the honor to deliver the Homecoming message on Sunday, June 8. This great church is still very young as it began in 1986! They are a faithful group of believers who I have been so very blessed to serve a number of times over the years! The message title was “Just One More Chance.” Text: 2 Cor. 6:2. A dear lady who was gloriously Born Again during their Vacation Bible School came forward during the public invitation to present herself for baptism! As soon as the service ended, she called the man that she has been living with for the past 20 years to inform him that they will be getting married! A 23-year-old young man began visiting this church several months ago. He knew absolutely nothing about the Bible. Pastor Scott and his wife, Misty, have literally poured into his young life! He is a “highly functioning” autistic young adult. He came forward by himself to give his heart to the Lord Jesus! No one prompted him! He came under the very strong convicting power of the Holy Spirit! Pastor Scott is not an emotional person, but he was choked up with tears of great joy! As he was about to close the public invitation, a lady spoke up and said: “Pastor Scott, my husband and I want to join this church!” This family has been watching the church services online! This set the church on fire! Pastor Scott and his people have worked very hard to reach their community for their Lord, and He is honoring their faithful labors! I gave these precious people the New Believer’s New Testament!
Harold and Marilyn Purkey faithfully loved on this servant 39 years ago as I was going through a very dark time in my life! They, along with their two grandsons, were the singers for the Homecoming Service at Omega Baptist Church! Neither they nor I knew that our families would be there! What a great joy to be able to minister together for our Lord (Psalm 133)! He knows exactly what He is doing! He never makes any mistakes! Praise His Holy Name!
Pastor Larry Jones of Concord Baptist Church in Mohawk, TN, along with sister Karen Douthat and her great team of servants, hosted the 4th Annual Rise Revival for young people at Locust Springs Christian Retreat Center in Greeneville, TN on July 12-14. Sister Karen heard from her Lord over four years ago that He wanted her to put together a revival for young people! She heard this soul winner in a church in south Greene County over 25 years ago and she made a decision to follow her Lord! She has never looked back, and she deeply desires to give back to her Lord for all that He has done for her! Karen has a very deep burden for young people! I, personally, saw and experienced one of the deepest moves of the Holy Spirit that I have ever seen and experienced! Seven precious young people were gloriously Born Again while seven young people recommitted their lives to their Lord! The convicting power of the Holy Spirit was so very strong and deep that young people were weeping in their seats before the public invitation began! Sister Karen and her faithful ladies have been passionately praying for the overwhelming power of God to fall on the place, and He heard and answered them! Praise His Holy Name (Jeremiah 33:3)!
Each time that I proclaim the gospel I give a public invitation for people to be Born Again, to recommit their lives to their Lord, to be baptized, and to surrender to their Lord’s call upon their life! In the 2nd year of the Rise Revival, Leland Payne surrendered to his Lord’s call on his life to proclaim the gospel! In the 3rd year of the Rise Revival, Kyler Seals surrendered to his Lord’s call on his life to proclaim the gospel! Leland Payne will be a senior at West Greene High School this coming school year while Kyler Seals will be a junior. Pastor Larry Jones believed his Lord that both of these young men were to preach the gospel at this year’s Rise Revival. They preached with excellence! When they gave the public invitation at the close of their message, the altar literally flooded with young people getting right with their Lord! The living God affirmed and confirmed His call upon Leland and Kyler’s lives! It was such a beautiful Biblical scene that I shall never ever forget! Glory Be!
Kyler Seals told of his journey of faith as his pastor, Don Bible, of Bibles Chapel Baptist Church in Midway, TN has brought this passionate soul winner there through the years to share the gospel in the church as well as in Vacation Bible School! Ten years ago, when Kyler was 6 years old, Pastor Don had me to share the gospel in VBS and Kyler was convicted by the Holy Spirit to be saved, and he said “No” to his Lord! The next year, Pastor Don had me back to share the gospel in VBS and Kyler, now 7 years old, said “YES!” to his Lord to be Born Again! Fast forward 7 years when Kyler was now 14 years old and he recommitted his life to his Lord in VBS when Pastor Don had me there to share the gospel! And then last year, at the Rise Revival, at the ripe old age of 15, Kyler surrendered to his Lord’s call upon his life to proclaim the glorious gospel message! This year, as I have already stated, Kyler Seals proclaimed the gospel at the Rise Revival! This is how the living God has worked in Kyler’s life over the past ten years! Kyler clearly remembers each year that he heard me proclaim the gospel as well as the tool that I used to present the gospel to children and young people! Oh, the great overwhelming power of the Word of God (Hebrews 4:12)! This is how the living God works when Spirit-filled pastors will allow this passionate soul winner to assist them! Glory Be!
On Sunday, June 15, I was blessed to proclaim the gospel at Beulah Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN where John David Shanks is the pastor. They had just concluded a great week of VBS where two precious children gave their heart to Jesus! Message Title: “Can You Be A Man After God’s Own Heart?” Text: 1 Samuel 13:14. This was Father’s Day! No one came forward during the public invitation, but we know that our Lord’s Holy Word will never ever return VOID (Isaiah 55:11)!
This coming Wednesday night, July 9, I will be assisting Pastor Don Bible once again in VBS at Bibles Chapel Baptist Church in Midway, TN! YES! Pastor Don and I and the great people that he shepherds are expecting a great movement from our great God who does all things well!
A dear lady came to me at the close of the Rise Revival. She stated: “Brother Jeff, thank you! This is what all of our churches need, a Real Revival!” I said: “AMEN, dear sister!”
Thank you for your prayers and financial support for this passionate soul winner! I can truly feel your passionate prayers! Many times, my Lord will tell me that people are praying for me, and I just cry and praise His Holy Name! PRAYER is the key! The Apostle Paul states in 1 Thess. 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.” Even so come Lord Jesus!
