Every day that my feet hit the floor from sleep I think about eternity! In eternity, people who die here will live forever in Heaven or Hell! If they are Born Again, they will live forever in Heaven (John 3:3)! If they are not Born Again, they will live forever in Hell! My calling from my Lord is to persuade them to give their heart to the Lord Jesus!
On June 23-27 Concord Baptist Church in Mohawk, TN will host the fifth annual “Rise Revival” at Locust Springs Christian Retreat Center in Greeneville, TN. How I praise my Lord for the able leadership of Pastor Larry Jones and sister Karen Douthat and all her co-laborers! Karen had this vision from her Lord five years ago and it is still being blessed bountifully by her Lord as young people are being Born Again and called into their Lord’s service! Leland Payne was called to preach two years ago at the event, and he is preaching at this year’s event as he did last year’s! He just graduated high school, and he is on his way to Bible College at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pineville, KY. Kyler Seals was also called to preach two years ago at the event, and he will also be preaching at this year’s event as he did in last year’s! I led Kyler to faith in his Lord several years ago at Bible’s Chapel Baptist Church Vacation Bible School in Midway, TN where Don Bible is his pastor. He is entering his senior year in high school. Last Sunday he preached at Concord Baptist Church Vacation Bible School, and four people were Born Again while three others recommitted their lives to their Lord! Miss Sarah Richards was Born Again two years ago at the event and then surrendered to her Lord’s call to the mission field! She will be leaving her family and home in west Greene County next week to serve her Lord in Belize! She just turned 21 years of age! Oh, the mighty power of the living God is moving on this generation of young people! Praise His Holy Name (Joel 2:28-29)!
The awesome mighty power of our great God continues to move on the men at the Jefferson County Jail! I have been seeing a personal depth and intimacy in the lives of many of these men that I have not seen in the six years that I have been coming into this spiritually dark place! My Lord has brought to my attention that one of the employees has been leading these dear men in Bible Study! The power of the Word of God to change people’s lives has never changed and it never will (Hebrews 4:12)! The men have even complimented this dear man to me for leading them in Bible Study!
I have a new congregation each week! The men are literally overwhelmed when we lay our hands on them and pray for them! Our Lord frequently laid His Holy hands on people to bless them and to pray for them (Mark 10:13-16)! I would that you could see the look on the faces of these dear men when we lay our hands on them and pray, and the awesome power of the Holy Spirit moves on them mightily! They tell me that they know their prayers are being answered!
I tell these dear men that you are praying for them each week! I, personally, cannot thank you enough! Due to confidentiality, I can’t tell you all that I really want to tell you other than “the power of the living God” is all that is keeping this passionate soul winner in this very spiritually dark place! The devil is really fighting me in numerous ways (Ephesians 6:10-20)!
One particular cell block is spiritually unlike any that I have seen in these six years! They are leading men to faith in Christ in their cell block! One young man publicly testified that when he came to this facility he was “spiritually lost” and he is now Born Again! He is growing in his walk with his Lord, and he has learned to think before he acts! Another young man told me privately with conviction in his voice and tears in his eyes that he is thankful that his Lord placed him in this facility for he has been Born Again! He has learned to pray and recently received a reduced sentence! He sees the hand of God working in his life!
On May 28, a small group of men came into the church room. Four Hispanic men were in attendance and three of them could speak no English! The powerful Holy Spirit can interpret the Word of God in the darkest of places! One of these Hispanic young men was radared in on me the entire service! He never once took his beautiful eyes off me! I could tell that the Holy Spirit was moving on him powerfully! As I led the men to pray to be Born Again, I watched him clasp his hands together with his head bowed humbly and sincerely! After we prayed, I watched him cross his heart as he looked at me with a wonderful loving sweet smile on his face! I truly believe that he was gloriously saved! One dear man came to me as he was leaving and said: “Many preachers come in here and just ramble on, but you preach the Word to us with the power of the Holy Spirit! Thank you!” Four men were Born Again this past month while twenty-five men rededicated their lives to their Lord!
A passionate soul winner in Corbin, KY recently had me to send him 300 “How To Be Born Again” flyers in Spanish! He has a Christian friend who is going to El Salvador in July on a mission trip!
On Sunday, June 14, Pastor Scott Ingram will host me for Homecoming at Omega Baptist Church in White Pine, TN. On the afternoon of Wednesday May 20, my Lord spoke to my heart! “Son, the past six years of your life have been the most productive years of your life for the building of My everlasting kingdom!” With all that is within me, thank you for praying for this passionate soul winner and for standing with me! I truly appreciate and love you! I can wholeheartedly agree with Job: “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God, Whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me” (Job 19:25-27 NKJV).
