When will the Lord Jesus return? This is a question that has been asked throughout history which is His story! In Matt. 24:14 the Lord Jesus states: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” In the same book and chapter, the Lord Jesus states in verse 36: “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” May this passionate soul winner be found faithfully leading spiritually lost people to faith in the Lord Jesus when He does return in power and great glory!
The week of Sept. 14-17 I will be assisting Pastor Michael Martin of Meridian Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN in a revival format. In preparation for the revival, on Thursday, July 3, I was blessed to assist them in an effective outreach in Montgomery Village in South Knoxville! It was a public housing facility that needed the hope of the Lord Jesus! They had booths set up for hot dogs, popcorn, drinks, and snow cones! They also had booths for face painting, preparing color-beaded bracelets which share the gospel message, and for introducing the residents to their great church! I was blessed to be able to share the gospel using the EvangeCube with a group of children and young people while they were having lunch! This event lasted two hours in the heat and the faithful servants of Meridian Baptist Church were very effective in witnessing! They are mature and seasoned veterans in the work of the Lord Jesus! Television station WVLT Channel 8 did an excellent report on the event! We are going to experience a great revival next month!
Pastor Larry Jones of Concord Baptist Church in Mohawk, TN has informed me that he has baptized three young people who made decisions in the recent Rise Revival! Also, youth pastor Adam Tolliver of Community Baptist Church has baptized six young people who made decisions in the Rise Revival! Oh, how I greatly appreciate the faithful follow-up of these dear servants! My records show that seven young people were Born Again in the revival, and they have already baptized nine! This is what I call evangelistic spill-over! Praise the sweet name of the Lord Jesus!
Last week was an unusual week for this passionate soul winner as I delivered messages in the memorial services of two men who I greatly loved and respected! I went all the way through elementary school, high school and two years of college with Ronnie Lovell! We have been friends for 62 years! He was a one-of-a-kind individual who loved life and people passionately! As I prepared my remarks for his memorial service, I would cry and laugh at the same time! Ronnie called me last November to tell me that he was going on hospice care and that he wanted me to do his memorial service when he passed. I asked Ronnie if he was ready to meet his Lord and he assured me that he was ready! His wife, Amy, allowed me to visit Ronnie every day for two weeks as he prepared to meet his Lord. I would not take all the money in this world for the time that I was blessed to spend with Ronnie!
Mark and Karen Bible have been dear friends of our family for the past twenty-one years! Kim, my wife, and Karen have served their Lord together in different ministries and their Lord has greatly blessed their faithful labors together! Mark has battled a number of health problems for many years, and Karen has faithfully stood by his side! Karen contacted me in February to tell me of Mark’s dire condition! Kim and I were blessed to spend quality time with him before he went to Heaven! Mark’s brother, Dana, who is a faithful minister of the gospel, and I eulogized him at his graveside service in the very intense heat! A large crowd of dear friends of their family heard the most powerful singing that I have ever heard in a graveside service!
When my Lord gives me an audience of people anywhere at any time of the day or night, I am going to give a very clear and concise gospel presentation and then lead them to pray to be Born Again as well as to rededicate their lives to their Lord! At Ronnie and Mark’s memorial services, I did this very thing! In both services combined, there were over 200 people in attendance! No one came to me after the services to tell me of their decision, but their “blood will not be on my hands” if they face the Lord Jesus unprepared (Ezekiel 3:16-27)!
Pastor Don Bible, Julie Johnson, and Rick Bible always do an excellent job with Vacation Bible School at Bibles Chapel Baptist Church in Midway, TN! Oh, praise the Lord for the powerful spiritual fruit that has been borne in the years that they have given this passionate soul winner the privilege to serve alongside them! They always do their Lord’s work with excellence! This year they allowed me to share the gospel with grades 2nd-4th, 6th-8th, and 9th-12th. I used the color-beaded bracelets with the Born Again flyer! The old saying: “A picture paints a thousand words” is still true today! Yes! “Seeing is believing!” We live in the most visual age in history! When I share the gospel with children in this setting, I always allow them to pray silently with me and then simply raise their hand if they asked Jesus to come into their heart. Then, I ask them to look at me and I explain to them what they just did. Then, I tell them that I am going to dismiss them to their next station in VBS and that if they prayed to be Born Again to stay for just a few minutes so that we can explain to them their next step. The only pressure that a child should experience is from the convicting power of the Holy Spirit! When you see them stay in the room as their friends are leaving, you know that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit is moving in their young heart! The look of conviction on their facial countenance is unlike any look that I have ever witnessed! Four adolescent young ladies gave their heart to the Lord Jesus! Two of them are twins while three of them live in other counties! Think about this fact! The living God brought them to a church where they could hear a very clear and concise presentation of the gospel! They have no church affiliation and have rarely been to church in their very young lives!
Oh, the deep love of the Lord Jesus! In Luke 19:1-10 we read the beautiful story of Zacchaeus, a despicable tax collector. Jesus sought him and Jesus saved him! Jesus always gets His man!
I want to always be at the very center of my Lord’s will for my life, no matter what the cost! This coming Sunday, August 10, I will be privileged to share the glorious gospel message in the morning and evening services at Lebanon Baptist Church in Talbott, TN where Charles Brewer is the pastor. Please pray for a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit! Also, I am praying and talking to faithful servants about other evangelistic opportunities to win lost people to faith in the Lord Jesus! Thank you for your prayer and financial support! We will not go to Heaven empty-handed! I love you!
